About Us
Healthcare in Africa is perpetually faced with serious challenges which have continued to widen the health equity gap and have further hampered development in the continent.
We are a youth-led organisation dedicated to giving young people across Africa the necessary training, networking experience and field exposure to contribute towards health and development in Africa.
700 million Africans accounting for approximately 50% of the entire population lack access to quality healthcare with many interventions not well tailored to the pain points of the end beneficiaries.
Many of these young people have lived experiences in specific issues concerning health and well-being and are best positioned to lead the change. We aim to amplify their voices and encourage commitment to addressing the issues.
Youth Health Action Network (YOHAN Africa) realises the potential to drive health and development by working with young people who make up 70% of the continent's population.
The organisation is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria (CAC No: 162728) and the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SCUML) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
We give the African youth a platform to implement innovative ideas, learn, network and we invest in the continent's development by innovatively improving the healthcare of her people.
We are moved by the poor human development index in the majority of Africa which lack of quality healthcare is a major contributor. We appreciate that this can improve if we get involved.
We believe we have a unique opportunity to achieve improved healthcare in Africa by working with young people at the grassroots who have the ideas, innovation and the passion.
